About Me.
Hi, I'm Brittany.
I've been writing songs since the age of nineteen. It's been therapy for me... a way to memorialize my experiences and emotions into more than just words... into music.
For a long time these words and melodies were sitting deep in a closet somewhere, accumulating dust along with my guitar. I always found something else to prioritize.
Then, after becoming a wife and mother, and working over a decade in the financial services industry, I started writing again, and I realized that I have something special to share. That it may not be for everybody, but if I can touch even one person, that would be worth it.
I believe that music can inspire, connect, and transcend differences across cultures and countries. It can bring people together and foster an environment of empathy and understanding. I dream that the power of my music will resonate, relate to, and perhaps even move people to make a change in their lives — or at the very least, make the world a little brighter.
Many of our experiences are shared, and they just need a little light — so we know we aren't alone. As a singer/songwriter in my thirties, l've had a lot of life experiences, but l also have a long way to go. I struggle with a number of things common to humanity, but one thing I don't struggle with is authenticity. That's what you'll hear in my work and it's what I want to share — honestly, sincerely, and unapologetically.
My music cuts across genres — intentionally — to impact the greatest number of people. Judy Garland, Shania Twain, Amy Grant, Kacey Musgraves, and Lana del Rey have all contributed to my melodic and lyrical musings, but my greatest inspiration comes from my faith, and personal mission statement: “Be salt & light to the world around me.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
To me, music, nature, and art provide healing and rest for the soul. I hope to bring you these gifts in my songwriting and that they bring you peace, in a world that is often troubled. May you remember that there is hope and light... and though sometimes hard to see or believe... a wonderful plan and purpose.
